I get chills watching Obama's acceptance speech. This is such a historical moment for American and although I did not vote for him, I am so proud of what this means. I know that millions of children will be affected by these events and I hope that they pursue their dreams and know that no matter your backround you can achieve your dreams.
I do have to say that I am dissappointed in many states that passed gay marriage bans. I cannot stress how this shatters my heart. I know that their are many young Americans that are already oppressed and are fearful of coming out. Now they cannot be themselves and their futures seem bleak. Marriage is being with who you love, whats so hard about that?

I thought his speech was amazing as well. He wasn't just speaking to those who voted for him, he was speaking to America, and it really seems like he is going to try and bring everybody together. It angers me that some people are still slamming him and are saying they are going to move away and such. That's not going to help anyone. But I agree with you, I'm pretty disappointed about the gay marriage bans too. It's who they are, and they shouldn't be oppressed or persecuted for that.
